With Child Care Subsidy (CCS) and Start Strong Long funding available, many families pay significantly less!

Child Care Subsidy Information (CCS)

Child Care Subsidy is paid after attendance. Families need to submit a claim to Centrelink online and confirm enrolment of their child/ren.

The amount of CCS you can get will depend on your circumstances, your income and your activity level whether working, studying/training or other recognised activity. Annual caps apply.

Centrelink will withhold 5% of the subsidy to reduce the likelihood of getting an overpayment. Payments will be balanced by Centrelink at the end of the financial year.

For further information regarding the Child Care Subsidy or to submit a claim, go to the Department of Human Services website or call the Family Assistance Office on 136 150.

Start Strong Funding

The Start Strong Free Preschool Funding program aims to support parents with the cost of education in the two years before children begin schoolEligible families can save up to $2,174 per year for four-year-olds and up to $515 for three-year-olds. This fee relief is available in addition to the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), though families do not need to receive CCS to qualify. For further information, click here.

3 Day Guarantee – Early Education!

From January 2026, every family will be guaranteed at least 3 days of subsidised early childhood education and care (ECEC) each week – no matter how much you work. That’s 72 hours of subsidised care per fortnight, helping more children get school-ready and giving parents real cost-of-living relief.

This 3 Day Guarantee means thousands of families will save up to $230 a week – that’s $11,400 a year! Families earning up to $533,280 remain eligible for subsidies, with even more hours available for those meeting activity requirements or caring for First Nations children.

Backed by a $426.7 million investment, this initiative ensures all children get the early education they deserve while helping parents balance work and family life. For further information, click here.
